The American Bald Eagle is a sight to behold at any time, but the moon raises this to a whole new level.
I had come to Conowingo Dam in Maryland one Spring afternoon with a plan to photograph eagles as they fished in the spillway below the dam. I was fortunate to get some good shots, but when this magnificent bird perched in a tree almost above my head, with the moon directly behind his in broad daylight, I couldn't resist. Better to be lucky than good I always say.
